Experience the adventure of living aboard a 37-foot sailboat as you eat, sleep, and sail while exploring breathtaking destinations.

This immersive program puts you at the heart of the action. You’ll actively participate in all aspects of sailing, including raising and trimming the sails, navigating, anchoring, and securing the vessel. You’ll even lend a hand with simple meal preparation, contributing to the shared experience of life aboard.

 

To ensure your success, you’ll receive pre-trip materials designed to build your knowledge and confidence. By the end of the course, you’ll be certified as either a Competent Crew or Day Skipper under the International Sail and Power Academy (ISPA), ready to embark on your own sailing adventures.

Embark on a five-day sailing adventure through the stunning Gulf Islands, where natural beauty, vibrant marine life, and dynamic sailing conditions come together for an unforgettable experience. While the Gulf Islands may be less remote than other sailing destinations, they offer a unique blend of challenges and rewards that make this region a perfect learning ground for sailors of all levels.

You’ll anchor in peaceful, idyllic bays surrounded by rugged coastlines and dense forests, taking in the tranquility of these beautiful islands.

Under expert guidance, you’ll refine your sailing techniques, from reading tides and currents to managing the boat in changing conditions. This trip combines hands-on learning with the thrill of exploration, giving you the chance to advance your sailing abilities while enjoying the breathtaking coastal setting.

The layout includes double berths, each equipped with its own sink—a thoughtful design that offers both comfort and convenience. The spacious, well-appointed interior provides a great balance between practicality and comfort.

What will we learn?

A bit of everything! Here are the core concepts we’ll cover:

-Sailing Fundamentals:
Learn the essentials of raising, trimming, and reefing sails. We’ll explore different points of sail and how each one impacts our journey on the water.

-Mooring and Anchoring:
Master the skills of anchoring, tying up to mooring balls, and docking. Knowing how to secure your boat safely for the night is key to a restful and worry-free sleep.

-Understanding Sea Conditions:
Discover the fascinating interplay of tides, currents, and wind. These are not only critical for safe navigation but also enrich your overall marine knowledge.

-Seamanship:
Develop practical skills, from handling and coiling lines to cooking and living aboard a sailboat comfortably and safely.

-Sailing Terminology:
Get familiar with essential sailing terms, helping you communicate effectively and confidently on the water.
